Corky Goldstein

Corky has been practicing law for 45 years. He is a life-long resident of Harrisburg. Following his graduation from Penn State University, he went to The Dickinson School of Law, where he was the President of the Student Government. While at law school he clerked for Attorney Nathan Richter, considered one of the best Personal Injury lawyers in America. During Law School he was retained by then Governor Ray Shafer to work on special legal projects for his administration and the General Counsel's Office of Pennsylvania. After graduation from Law School, he was recruited by District Attorney Arlen Specter to be an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia. After four (4) years with the District Attorney's office he was asked to come back to Dauphin County to establish Central Pennsylvania Legal Services for the poor and became its first Executive Director. It is now called Mid-Penn Legal Services. When he was Executive Director, it was named all four years as one of the top ten most effective legal service projects in the United States. He started teaching law programs in the public schools, which was nationally recognized. After that service, he was asked by then Governor Milton Shapp to become Chief Deputy Insurance Commissioner of Pennsylvania, where he spearheaded the establishment of No-Fault Automobile Insurance among many other projects. After that he went into general private practice, along with being named to the Harrisburg School Board, elected as Vice-President of Harrisburg City Council, and then becoming Chief Solicitor to the City of Harrisburg. He then continued his general private practice with the city law firm of Fox, Farr, Cunningham and Goldstein. He then was asked by Governor Thornburgh to become Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvania School, State & Municipal Pension Funds. After that service he established the Law offices of Goldstein in the general practice of law where he concentrated his practice on Criminal Defense on all levels, Family Law and Administrative Law. He was a Custody Conciliator in Dauphin County as well. Attorney Goldstein wrote a TV series on the law for Harrisburg Area Community College for students and the general public called, "Decade on Justice", and another 14 part TV series on many legal topics for Public Television called, "The Just Generation," which received a Peabody Award. He started the "Ask The Lawyer", a weekly radio show, and the radio show "Corky's Court" and both the TV and radio shows received local, state and national recognition for bringing the law to the people. All of these shows were done pro bono. Corky received many special awards from the American Bar Association and the PA. Bar Association for his service to the public, and particularly for the low income community. He has given many lectures to college students, as well as law school students, on general topics, including ethics, how lawyers must reach out to all those with no income or low incomes, criminal law, and family law. Corky has served as Special Counsel for the Court-Martial Trials for the PA State Police, appointed by Governor Thornburgh to The State Medical Board, and Counsel for numerous Campaign Committees for those seeking local, state, and federal positions, both Judicial and Executive branches of government. Corky has brought all of his broad experiences, unique skills and practice to Abom and Kutulakis as Senior Counsel.

B.A. – Penn State University-At Penn State he was named to five honorary societies, was President of his class and was named to the Lions Paw Society, one of the highest and most prestigious honors at Penn State for Students.
