Kara W. Haggerty
Kara is an associate attorney at Abom & Kutulakis, L.L.P. She focuses her practice in the area of family law including representing clients in divorce, separation, custody, support, premarital agreements, adoption, involuntary termination of parental rights matters, paternity, name change, power of attorney, dependency and legal guardianship.
Prior to joining the firm, Kara was employed as an Adult Probation Officer in Northumberland County from 1994 to 1995. She was employed as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Montour County from 1995 to 1997. Kara worked for the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office, first as a law clerk and then following graduation as an Assistant District Attorney. Her primary responsibilities were in the Juvenile Division. In addition, she has tried several jury trials and has argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
While at the District Attorney's Office, Kara established the first ‘Class Action: Pennsylvania Teens and the Law’ program in Cumberland County. The program is designed to educate youth on the criminal justice system and the law.
Kara resides in Carlisle with her husband, John, and their daughter. She is also a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Carlisle.
